London Day 4

Today was far less successful than any other day so far in getting touristy-sightseeing done. Looking on the bright side, I now have an even better understanding of the city streets ad tube layout, thought that came only after a full day of nothing really working out as planned.

I stated off the day with breakfast at a great place called Café Rivera. Then Blake, Joanna and Alexis went off to see the Tate Modern Art Museum while I stayed behind to try and communicate with people back home in a Starbucks (the only reliable internet I can find). Unfortunately my battery on my computer died before getting anything done, so I went to try and find my friends.

I took the Tube, and got to the Tate a little early, so I went around asking where a place to get minutes for my phone was, people kept sending me in different directions and around street corners until eventually I found I had walked all the way back to where I live. I traced my steps angrily back to the Tate to wait for my friends.

We had lunch at a great pub called The Black Friar, which had engravings of monks over the bar, and then went to try and see Westminster Abbey. It was of course closed for a special service, so we instead snapped photos of the outside and went to look in some bookstores. After heading back home, I went to the Roebuck to get a drink and then headed back inside to call it an early day, hopefully tomorrow I will be able to see Westminster and get a phone card early. The sightseeing didn’t work out today, but at least the food was good.
